Creating an experience that checks off all of the boxes and innovates beyond the norm is something I strive for in my work. Nine times out of ten you get the job done and move on, but I hope to find that one project that takes me beyond.
Through both playing and watching others play video games, I can understand how the structure of a product effects different people. When you find that one amazing game that is completely immersive, you lose track of time and give hours to the product that cracked the code. Seeing how other game connoisseurs react to different experiences has shown me how to differentiate between the good and the best. Video games have also shown me how cool and interesting consumer experiences can be, which is never a bad thing.
YouTube Culture || Industry Community
YouTube is a very exclusive club that is open to everyone.
You may have a YouTube account and watch videos, but until you join one of the thousands of communities revolving around creators, are you really a part of YouTube? Joining the YouTube culture has shown me how far I need to go in order to create the best consumer experience. Having such a tight connection from creator to consumer or vice versa starts up such a strong culture that can strive on its own. Making an organic, virtual community is a great solution to any business problem. I hope to start strong connections both in the workplace and out.
Interior Design || User Experience
Starting with a blank canvas and taking users through a smooth, seamless journey is the goal of any maker. If you didn't put in the right foundation, you won't get the right result.
Having grown up around interior design, I understand not only how to make things beautiful on the surface, but also how to create a strong base or foundation that will support anything. Pillows and green wall paint are dandy, but when you walk through a space, it is "the space" that matters. Similar to wire framing for a website, creating a smooth user experience is the most important step to any project.
