Symmetric Key Encryption

My partner, Katrina Schouten and I created a learning module based on content we had learned from a university course. We chose to look at symmetric key encryption and brute force search and were allowed to choose any medium to create the learning module. 

Our Design

Using the coding language Processing, Katrina and I made an interactive data visualization. We created a clickthrough interface both defining our topics and providing a way to learn and interact with each topic.

My Role

I worked on the overall platform of the data visualization (design, layout, button functions) as well as the symmetric key encryption pages (the first and second screens). The interaction element that I implemented allows users to fill in a key of 5 numbers. They can see the direct encryption in the sentence bellow and they can reset and refill the encryption key. Creating this interactive screen included coding formulas as well as trial and error to create the smoothest experience for the user.
